What to Know about FUNAAB's Admission Allocation.

It's no more news that the management of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta through the Admission committee and the office of the Senate and Admission have begun to send list of candidates recommended for admission into the institution to JAMB. Some candidates have begun to notice changes in their CAPS since yesterday which is why this article is published. 

In this article, I will highlight what you need to know about the institution admission, what each status you are seeing on CAPS means, and how to check and accept both chosen courses and recommended courses through the JAMB CAPS. I will also state an alternative way to track your admission status so you won't be ignorant checking only one source. 

This articles will be divided into FIVE SECTIONS (In your best interest, ensure you read from all the sections).

SECTION 1: How to check your "Admission Status"

Follow the steps below to check your admission status; 

STEP 1: Log in to JAMB efacility through this link https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility_/. Enter your details in field provided and click log in. 

STEP 2: On logging in, you would get this landing page below, scroll down and select "Check Admission Status" 

STEP 3: Check if the registration number correspond to yours and click on "Access my CAPS"

This will lead you to the below image window. This is where most student get stuck. Follow the next step to walk past this stage. 

STEP 4: Change your browser to enable "View Desktop Site". Click on the menu or hamburger sign on the top right corner, scroll down and check the box. Preferably, use Google Chrome. 

STEP 5: Zoom in the landing page to the left pane and select "Admission Status".

STEP 6: This will enable you see your admission status. 

This the point where some candidates get nervous. There are three different status you could see at this point. I will explain each. 

1. "Congratulations, you have been offered Admission". Well as it reads, it's a congratulation wish indeed, hence don't hesitate and Accept the Admission. After accepting wait for the next line of instruction, in your own interest, save a screenshot of your Admission Acceptance because you will need it for registration later in the school.
2. "Admission in Progress". Candidates who are seeing this are one legged in already. This status means the school has recommended you for admission and your admission is awaiting approval from JAMB. All things being equal, the status will change soon to number 1 above. Exception of cases of students whose status didn't change could as a result of many factor; failure to upload O level, contrasting details between JAMB and the school portal, and other unknown factors. 
3. "Not Admitted". This is not as bad as it sounds. Admission into the institution is in batches. The people who are being offered admission at the moment are predicted to be the ones with merit performance after meeting other required standards. Soon after, supplementary lists of candidates will be uploaded until the school reaches her maximum quota for this session.

SECTION 2: HOW WILL I KNOW IF MY COURSE WAS CHANGED?

This is important. Some students last year were recommended to another department  but they didn't know because it wasn't reflecting on their Admission Status. All they kept seeing was NOT ADMITTED. In order to track if you have been offer another course. Follow the process below. 

STEP 1: Repeat all the steps in the section above until STEP 4, then follow the below steps.

STEP 2: Click on "Transfer Approval".

STEP 3: If any course was recommended you, here is where you will accept it. The next step after accepting this offer which means you are ready to accept the course they recommended to you is to wait till your Admission Status changes to "Congratulations....". However before this can happen you need to apply for change of course. Change the course on JAMB portal to the course the school recommended to you and await the change in admission status, 

Note that your admission status will not change if you don't apply for change to the recommended course.

SECTION 3: What other alternative method can I use to track my admission?

Last year some people didn't see their admission first on CAPS, they noticed it first on the school portal. Therefore, it is advisable that you check the school admission portal as well should in case this is where your offer appears first. Access the school admission portal through https://admission.unaab.edu.ng/login.php

SECTION 4: What do I do if don't get admission offer? 

It's simple, keep checking. You need to keep checking until the day your desires are met. 

SECTION 5: What next after Admission? 

To the shortlisted ones who have been able to accept admission. In your own best interest, save a screenshot of the Admission Acceptance and do the following. 

1. Print your admission letter and original result slip which reflects your details and the course of study. You can get this done at Chosen Foundation and get your documents in PDF and a copy saved on your mail for reference purpose.
2. Await the annunciation of commencement of payment of Acceptance fee. Ready your fee before this is announced. All things being equal, you will be requested to pay a sum of Thirty thousand, seven hundred and fifty naira (#30,750) which is payable at any bank that accept remita payments. 3. Ready all your documents in preparation for registration. The necessary documents will be published in our next articles.
