Is JAMB Change of Course/Institution form out?

In case you have been asking this question for a long time, then you are on the right page.

It is to be noted that Jamb offices are closed nationwide and as a result of this can't respond to candidates who want to come and lodge complain, make enquiries or need to be attended to physically. Any service which cannot be done online is to be held till the total end of lockdown and commencement of commercial services in full.

In respect to this, Change of Course/Institution for 2020/2021 admission can only be processed online. However the process is to be completed in JAMB state offices as individuals have not been permitted to do it at their own conveniences yet.

Therefore, candidate can only make payment and get the payment approved but can't change their course or institution yet as it can only be done in any Jamb state offices. Therefore, if you are willing to change your course or institution, you need to hold on until JAMB resume back to their offices.

Why do Candidates apply for Change of Course/Institution? 

• Inability to meet up with the Institution minimum cut off mark. 

It is needed for a candidate to know his/her institution minimum cut off mark before obtaining their Post UTME Application Form so such candidate will know if there's a need to change institution. 

• Score too low to meet up for the required cut off for a course. 

If for instance, a student is aspiring to study Medicine and Surgery in the University of Ibadan and such candidate scores a UTME of 200, it will take God's grace for such a student to get admission to study the course as there are much students who scored above that same score are still on queue for that same course. Therefore, it is advisable for such a candidate to consider a change if course. 

• Wrong Subject combination. 

Wrong subject combination is another reason why a student would apply for Change of course or Institution. Some candidate discover late, mostly after conclusion of UTME that their subject combination isn't in compliance with the course they want to study, hence there's a need to change to another course which accept their combination or another institution who allow such combo for that same course. 

For instance, FUNAAB combinations for Food science are Use of English, Physics/Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology while some other institution allows a substitution of Agric for Biology. If a candidate has been mistaken and has a combination that doesn't qualify for FST in Funaab, he has to change to another course that accept such combination or switch to another school that allows the combination for his/her desired course.
