Latest Update on Schools' Resumption.

There has been a lot of talk on the social media and some news platform claiming the federal government have announced a fixed day for tertiary institution resumption.
As much as this sound like good news to most people, I however need to call your attention to the fact that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, when addressing the nation in his last speech has not said anything as regards schools resumption date.
Also, the Ministry of Education is aware of the fact that some news media are purporting and making up news to make people feel good which however is not relaying the intention of the ministry whatsoever. The Ministry warned earlier through a tweet that students should avoid trusting such news with no solid evidence or reference.
In the light of this, Freshers and students of all institution should rest assured that when there is a certain announcement of resumption date, trusted news media will broadcast this and even you will be able to tell that it is not falsified.
As of today, the Federal Government through the Ministry of Education has not announced any date as the official resumption for all schools in Nigeria. Students should debunk any news, media or source that claim otherwise.
It is true that several schools are making effort and putting some measures into place to ensure that they can run academic activities smoothly while the pandemic lasts. The University of Osun (UNIOSUN) have reportedly conducted an online matriculation for their fresh students. Other schools are also looking forward to making tech advancement and implement some measures that will make students resume academic activities from home.
In an earlier post, we advised student to prepare for the worst scenario so they won't be shocked if schools resolve to rush academic calendar in order to make up for the time lag.
