In this post we will cover;

List of Colleges and Departments in FUNAAB.

UTME Subject combination for each course.

O Level requirements for each of the courses.

FUNAAB is an acronym of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. It's basically an Agric. school but it is not limited to Agriculture courses.

We used to have courses in management science but it was cropped off, and since then, FUNAAB has not been offering any course relating to Commercial students. Funaab doesn't use the word "Faculty" like other schools Presently, Instead, we make use of the word "College". There are Nine (9) active colleges In FUNAAB presently.

1. College of Agricultural Management and Rural development (COLAMRUD): Under this College we have three main departments that admits undergraduates 

a)      Agricultural Extension and rural development (AERD).

b)      Agricultural Administration (AGAD).

c)      Agricultural Economics and Farm Management (AEFM).

2. College of Animal Science and Livestock Production. (COLANIM): Under this College, we have five departments.

a)      Animal Nutrition (ANN).

b)      Animal Physiology (ANP).

c)      Animal Breeding and Genetics (ABG).

d)      Pasture and Range Management. (PRM).

e)      Animal Production and Health. (APH).

 

3. College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COPLANT): We have five courses here.

a.       Plant Physiology and crop production (PPCP).

b.      Crop Protection (CPT).

c.       Soil Science and land management (SSLM

d.      Horticulture (HRT).

e.       Plant breeding and seed technology (PBST).

Take note of the abbreviated forms of these colleges and departments. When I say ABG, you know what that means. The JAMB cut off mark for studying any of the courses in FUNAAB brochure is 160. Of course this does not mean scoring 160 gives you direct admission. Some courses demand above 180, while some others demand above 200. 

Also, be informed that the three colleges outlined above are classified as the Agric departments.

The O' level requirements for these courses include at least a credit pass in

• English language.

The JAMB subject combination for these courses are;

• Use of English,
• Mathematics or Physics,
• Chemistry and
• Biology or Agric.

 

4. College of Physical Sciences. (COLPHYS)

The courses are :

a. Physics (PHS).

b. Chemistry (CHM).

c. Mathematics (MTS).

d. Statistics (STS).

e. Computer Science (CSC).

 

The O' level requirement goes thus:

• Physics.
• Chemistry.
• Biology,
• Mathematics.
• English language.

 The JAMB subject combination must be the following:

• Use of English.
• Physics,
• Chemistry, and
• Mathematics.

 

Now, moving on to the next college,

5. College of Biological Sciences. (COLBIOS)

The courses here include:

a.       Microbiology (MCB).

b.      Biochemistry (BCH).

c.       Pure and Applied Zoology (PAZ).

d.      Pure and Applied Botany (PAB).

 The O' level requirements for these courses include at least a credit pass in

• Physics,
• Chemistry,
• Biology,
• Mathematics and
• English language.

The JAMB subjects combination for these courses are;

6. College of Food Science and Human Ecology. (COLFHEC)

Courses here include;

a.       Food Sceince and Technology. (FST)

b.      Home science and managemnt. (HSM)

c.       Hospitality and Tourism management. (HTM)

d.      Nutrition and Dietetics. (NTD)

The O' level requirements for these courses include at least a credit pass in

• Physics,
• Chemistry,
• Biology,
• Mathematics and
• English language.

The JAMB subjects combination for these courses are;

 7. College of Environmental and Resource Management. (COLERM): There Courses include;

a.       Environmental Management and Toxicology (EMT).

b.      Forestry and Widelife Management (FRM).

c.       Water Resources management and Agronetereology (WMA).

d.      Aquaculture and Fisheries management. (AQFM)

e. Geology (GEO)

8. College of Engineering. (COLENG) :Courses include;

a)      Civil Engineering (CVE).

b)      Agricultural and Bio resources Engineering (ABE)

c)      Mechanical Engineering. (MCE)

d)      Electrical/Electronic Engineering. (ElE)

e)      Mechantronics Engineering. (MTE)

The O' level requirements for these courses include at least a credit pass in

 9. College of Veterinary Medicine. (COLVET)

There's only one course here.:

10. College of Entrepreneurship (COLEND) 

For now, this is the only social science course offered in FUNAAB. There is only one course under this college, namely 

• Entrepreneurship Studies 

The O'level requirements for this course include at least a credit pass in 

• English Language
• Mathematics
• Economics
• and any two other social sciences subjects,
